Who are we?

Christ Community Church is a growing family of Christ-followers who are located at the City center of Gulu. We are dedicated to reaching the unreached communities within and outside Gulu with the ageless message of Jesus Christ in a loving, practical, and contemporary way. We also strive to demonstrate the love of God, through tangible acts of service, which can be seen and felt in the surrounding growing towns and trading centers in Northern Uganda.

Our Purpose

To lead people to discover Jesus and follow Him fully.

 Our Mission

To help people take their next steps toward Jesus. To love our city, impact Northern Uganda and touch the world with the ageless message of Jesus Christ in a loving, practical, and contemporary way.

 Our Services

Services are held on Sunday mornings and other days as slated in our programs and are creatively designed to touch the heart in ways that communicate God's ageless truths.

The Bible

The sole basis of our belief is the Bible, composed of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament. We believe that Scripture in its entirety originated with God, and that it was given through the instrumentality of chosen men. Scripture thus at one and the same time speaks with the authority of God and reflects the backgrounds, styles and vocabularies of the human authors. We hold that the Scriptures are infallible and inerrant in the original manuscripts. They are the unique, full and final authority on all matter of faith and practice and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God.

(2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:19-24)

We believe that there is one true, holy God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - each of whom possess equally all the attributes of deity and the characteristics of personality. In the beginning God created out of nothing the world and all the things therein; thus manifesting the glory of His power, wisdom and goodness. By His sovereign power He continues to sustain His creation. By His providence He is operating throughout history to fulfill His redemptive purpose.

(Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:15-17)

The central purpose of God's revelation Scripture is to call all people into fellowship with Himself. Originally created to have fellowship with God, man defied God, choosing to go his independent way, and was thus alienated from God and suffered the corruption of his nature, rendering him unable to please God. The fall took place at the beginning of human history, and all individuals since have suffered these consequences and are thus in need of the saving grace of God. The salvation of mankind is, then, wholly a work of God's free grace, not the result, in whole or in part of human works or goodness, and must be personally appropriated by repentance and faith. When God has begun a saving work in the heart of any person, He gives assurance in His Word that He will continue performing it until the day of its full consummation.

(John 3:16; 14:6; Ephesians 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5-7; I Peter 1:18-19; I John 5:11-13)

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the eternal second Person of the Trinity who was united forever with a true human nature by a miraculous conception and virgin birth. He lived a life of perfect obedience to the Father and voluntarily atoned for the sins of all by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone. He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He lived and died. He ascended into heaven and sat down at the right hand of the Father, where He, the only Mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own. He shall come again to earth, personally and visibly, to consummate history and eternal plan of God.

(Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-3, 14, 29, 3:1-6; I Corinthians 15:3-4, 12-19; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:14-16; I John 2:1-2; Acts 1:9-11)

The Christian Life (The Holy Spirit)

The essential accompaniment of a genuine saving relationship with Jesus Christ is a life of holiness and obedience attained by believers as they submit to the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity. He was sent into the world by the Father and the Son to apply to mankind the saving work of Christ. He enlightens the minds of sinners, awakens in them a recognition of their need of a Savior and regenerates them. At the point of salvation, He permanently indwells every believer to become the source of assurance, strength, and wisdom, and uniquely endows each believer with gifts for the building up of the body. The Holy Spirit guides believers in understanding and applying the Scripture. His power and control are appropriated by faith, making it possible for the believer to lead a life of Christ like character and to bear fruit to the glory of the Father.

(John 3:5, 14:16-17; Acts 5:3-4; Romans 8:14; I Corinthians 6:11, 19, 12:13; Galatians 5:16, 17; Ephesians 430, 5:18-21)

Human Destiny

Death seals the eternal destiny of each person. For all mankind, there will be a resurrection of the body into the spiritual world, and a judgment that will determine the fate of each individual. Unbelievers will be separated from God into condemnation. God's judgment will reveal His justice in consigning them to perpetuate in eternal retribution their own rejection of God. Believers will be received into eternal communion with God and will be rewarded for works done in this life.

(Matthew 25:46; John 3:16; 5:24, 10:28-29; Romans 9:22-24; 2 Corinthians 5:8; I Thess. 1:9-10, 4:13-18; 2 Thess. 1:7-10; Jude 23-24; Revelation 20:11-15)

The Church

The corollary of union with Jesus Christ is that all believers become members of His body, the church. There is one true church universal, comprised of all those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The Scripture commands believers to gather together to devote themselves to worship, prayer, teaching of the Word, observance of baptism and communion as the sacramentarian ordinances established by Jesus Christ, fellowship, service to the body through the development and use of talents and gifts, and outreach to the world.

Whenever God's people meet regularly in obedience to this command, there is the local expression of the church. Under the watchful care of pastors and the supportive leadership of shepherds, its members are to work together in love and unity, intent on the one ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.

(Matthew 16:18, 28:19, 20; John 13:1-17; Acts 2:41-47; I Corinthians 11:17-34, 12-13; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18)

Faith and Practice

We believe the Statement of Faith to be an accurate summary of what Scripture teaches. All members shall refrain from advocating doctrines that are not included in the Statement of Faith in such a way as to cause dissensions.

(2 Timothy 2:15-18; Titus 3:8-11)

Scripture is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. This church recognizes that it cannot bind the conscience of individual members in areas where Scripture is silent. Rather, each believer is to be led in those areas by the Lord, to whom he or she alone is ultimately responsible.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Focus on Five/ our core values

At Christ Community Church, we boil our core values to the following five things:

LOVE; Loving God and loving others. This is the foundation for the other four.

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself."  Matthew 22:36-39

BELONG; Forging friendships with God's family in your local church.

"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household"  Ephesians 2:19

GROW; Experiencing life-change as we apply God's truth to our lives.

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."  Colossians 2:6-7

SERVE; Using our spiritual gifts to build up the church and impact the community.

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."  1 Peter 4:10

REACH; Investing our lives in others near and far that many would come to know Jesus.

"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.  Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."  Colossians 4:5-6

3C Kids' Nursery & Day Care Center

We are dedicated to teaching children about the love of Jesus and instilling a lifelong love for the local church. We realize that a great church experience coincides with a child's developing impression of God's love, so we strive to do that; make it a great experience!

Safety is very important, here at Christ Community Church - Gulu, so we have each child register and log into our database which is specifically designed to allow for only a parent or guardian to pick their child up from a classroom. Additionally, all volunteers must undergo a background check and receive training to guarantee safety and a great experience.

Our goal is to provide a rich environment of music, storytelling, crafts, games, and intentional guidance, which support developing relationships and allow for opportunities to learn Biblical truths. These truths and concepts are taught in an age-appropriate way that enable children to easily apply them to their daily lives. Using skilled volunteers, cutting-edge technology, fun activities, and creative environments to communicate God's love will help foster, in your child, a desire to come and learn.

 Get Involved!

Everyone is welcome to join us in our services as we learn to faithfully live in Relationship with Jesus Christ through constant study of the Bible and sharing His unending love amidst us.
